FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves the reaction of thiocyanate with iron (III) and the formation of red staining. The reaction is carried out in a polymethacrylate matrix with immobilized iron (III). Determination of thiocyanate is carried out by measuring the optical density of the solution at a wavelength of 490 nm and visual estimation of the rhodanide content by the intensity of the colour of the polymethacrylate matrix by comparison with the test colour tables.
EFFECT: increasing accuracy, reducing the detection limit and simplifying the measurement method.
