FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of devices that measure the mechanical properties of materials, and is intended to determine the contact area and observe the surface of the sample during its deformation. Indenter lens is made of an optically transparent material, the indenting end of the body of which is faceted in the form of an n-sided pyramid. According to the invention, the non-indenting end of the indenter is also faceted in the form of an n-sided pyramid. Lateral faces of the pyramids are oriented in such a way that each face of the pyramid of the indenting end corresponds to a parallel face of the non-indenting end. Pyramids heights lie on one straight line.
EFFECT: expanding the functionality of the indenter – lens by visualizing the process of deformation of the sample surface.
