FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to neurology and reflexology, and can be used to treat patients with tension headache, both with frequent episodic and chronic forms. To do this, the acupuncture points of Lu-Xi, Jiao-Sun, Bai-Hui, Da-Zhui, Yin-Tan are injected with a 0.5–1 ml solution of 0.5 % procaine. 2–4 courses are conducted with an interval of 1 week. Course includes 4 procedures, each with a frequency of procedures every 3–4 days. Additionally, headache episodes are reverted with ibuprofen at a dose of 400 mg.
EFFECT: method provides a reduction in the frequency and intensity of headache attacks without the use of psychotropic drugs while reducing the number of analgesics used, a significant reduction in the number of recurrences of the disease by relieving the reflex tension of the pericranial and facial muscles, improvement of the quality of life of patients.
