FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine and can be used to assess the effectiveness of treating tension headache (THA). It involves palpation sequential evaluation on both sides of painful muscles: temporal, frontal, occipital, sternocleidomastoid, trapezoidal, inferior oblique and belt muscles. Most painful muscle is detected. That is followed by tensoalgimetry of the maximally painful muscle before and after the therapeutic course. Degree of muscle soreness (DMS) is determined by the declared formula. If the DMS value is 40% and more, the effectiveness of the THA treatment is considered to be high, 21–39% – as an average, 20% and less – as a low effectiveness of the THA treatment.
EFFECT: method provides higher accuracy of evaluating the effectiveness of THA treatment, reduced duration of the study.
