FIELD: nuclear physics and equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear physics, in particular to methods for processing materials with radioactive contamination. Method of decontamination of surfaces of solid objects with radioactive contamination includes the input radiation monitoring of the level of contamination, pressurized air supply to an abrasive device containing a torch with a plasma torch, an ejection chamber and an accelerating tube. Upon reaching air pressure of at least 2.5 bar, fuel is supplied to the combustion chamber to form, when mixed with air, a combustible mixture that ignites when the plasma torch starts up from the arc discharge. Vacuum is created in the burner and a gas jet plume is formed at its exit, directed into the ejection chamber, into which the abrasive is fed, mixing it with the burning mixture. Combustible mixture with an abrasive is advanced along the accelerating tube by means of an air stream under pressure, providing further heating of the abrasive and freeing it from organic impurities and moisture. On the surface of solid objects is affected by hot abrasive from the output of the accelerating tube. Conduct radiation monitoring, the results of which make a decision on re-decontamination.
EFFECT: invention allows for the qualitative removal of radioactive contamination using a mobile device for abrasive surface treatment.
