FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine and can be used to identify transitions between a standing position and a sitting position of a user. In the method, the device contains a permanent machine-readable medium, containing a computer program code, which, when executed on a computer, instructs the computer to perform the method for determining transitions between a standing position and a sitting position, wherein the device comprises a hardware processor, configured to: process measurements of acceleration experienced by the user in order to identify possible movements corresponding to transitions between a standing position and a sitting position; determine the identified possible movement as a transition from a sitting to a standing position, where the identified possible movement coincides with an increase in height in the signal indicating the height of the user's body part during movement, and determine the identified possible movement as a transition from a standing position to a sitting position, where the identified possible movement coincides with a decrease in height in the signal indicating the height of a part of the user's body, wherein the processing of acceleration measurements for identifying possible movements corresponding to transitions between standing and sitting contains a comparison of acceleration measurements with a given acceleration profile for transition from sitting to standing, and the comparison of acceleration measurements with a given acceleration profile for moving from sitting to standing contains: filtering the acceleration measurement using a predetermined acceleration profile in order to produce a forward filtered signal; flipping the forward filtered signal in the opposite direction; and filtering the flipped signal using the specified acceleration profile.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides an increase in the efficiency of determining transitions between a standing position and a sitting position of a user.
