FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine, to estimating the fall risk of a user with cardiovascular, motor, neurological disorders. When implementing the method, the user’s acceleration measurements are analyzed to determine if the user has performed a sit-to-stand transfer. Provided that the standard deviation, variance or range of a set of the acceleration measurements occurring during a period of time before said sit-to-stand transfer is less than a threshold value, acceleration due to gravity is evaluated as an average of the set of the acceleration measurements occurring during a time period. Then, the user's peak vertical acceleration during the sit-to-stand transfer is identified based on the measurements of the user's acceleration. In this case, the identified peak vertical acceleration is scaled using an estimate of the gravity obtained from the measurements of the user’s acceleration over a period of time. After that, the fall risk of the user is estimated based on the scaled peak vertical acceleration. For implementing the method, an information medium containing a computer program is used which, when executed on a computer or processor, causes the computer or processor to determine the fall risk of the user, the system containing the stabilometrical platform for measuring forces, variants of the device, containing a processing unit, an accelerometer, which measures the acceleration acting on the device in three dimensions, with the possibility of wearing the device by the user.
EFFECT: group of inventions ensures the accuracy of the fall risk assessment and comfort of users.
