FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to facilities to monitor user motion. The method to determine risk of user fall includes stages, when they produce measurements of user motion, assess the value of the parameter related to user gait according to measurement results, and determine risk of user fall by results of comparison of the assessed value with the normal value of the parameter determined on the basis of user motion. The stage of assessment includes identification of step border in produced measurements by identification of clusters of results of adjacent measurements in produced measurements, in which the value of each measurement results exceeds the limit, or by identification of clusters of results of adjacent measurements, apart from the subset of measurement results, the value of which is less than the limit, provided that the subset covers period of time that is less than the limit time, or by identification of clusters of results of adjacent measurements, besides, the first produced result of measurements, the value of which exceeds the first limit, means the first result of measurements in the cluster, and the first produced result of measurements after the first result of measurements in the cluster, the size of which is less than the second limit, means the last result of measurements in the cluster, provided that the last measurement was made upon expiration of the minimum period after the first measurement. The fall prevention device comprises at least one sensor to produce measurements of device user motion and a processor to assess the value of the parameter made as capable of performing method actions and equipped with a machine-readable medium.

EFFECT: usage of the invention makes it possible to determine instantaneous risk of user fall.
