SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of testing and measuring equipment, to the methods of measuring the characteristics of an explosion of an ammunition or explosive charge in the near zone from the target. Method consists in the explosive loading of a suspended massive body and the subsequent measurement of the impulse acquired by it. Explosive loading of a massive body is carried out in conditions of its free fall. Armored plate with a symmetrical shape of the loaded surface is used as a massive body.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to eliminate the influence of friction forces on the displacement of a massive body subjected to explosive destruction and the accompanying energy losses.
