FIELD: measuring equipment; test equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of testing and measuring equipment, to methods for measuring the characteristics of an explosion of an ammunition or explosive charge in the so-called near zone from the target. Method includes the explosive loading of the toe of a ballistic pendulum and the subsequent measurement of the pulse acquired by its body. After the pendulum body reaches the maximum speed it is forced to decelerate with a “counter” explosion of the explosive charge placed in relation to it from the rear end, i.e. opposite to the test charge.

EFFECT: invention allows to limit the movement of a massive body subjected to explosive loading, while simultaneously improving the measurement accuracy.
