FIELD: water supply.
SUBSTANCE: device contains a waterproof barrage in the transverse section of the valley of a mountain river, completely overlying over the power and width of the aquifer and forming an underground reservoir, and an elevated reservoir formed by a dam. Volumes of both reservoirs are interconnected, and at least one of them is shut-off and regulating pipelines. Above-ground reservoir is located in a lateral mountain gorge relative to the river valley and has a pumping station with radial intake on the river outside the coverage of the underground water reservoir for communication with the river.
EFFECT: ensures the possibility of reliable water withdrawal in the required amount throughout the entire period of operation, including in low-water periods of the year in the valleys of mountain rivers with periodically drying water flow, due to the effective use of the underground and above-ground volume of the valley of a mountain river, with the exception of catastrophic situations during the passage of floods.
