FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an audio codec for use in parallel with encoded video. Technical result is achieved by the fact that as a result of considering the fragment grid and the frame grid as independent values, but nevertheless, for each fragment the frame grid is aligned with the beginning of the corresponding fragment. Loss of compression efficiency can be kept low with a suitable choice of fragment size. On the other hand, the alignment of the frame grid relative to the beginning of the fragments provides for an easy and synchronized with the fragment method of processing fragments with respect to, for example, parallel streaming of audio and video, adaptive in speed to streaming.

EFFECT: technical result is to ensure synchronization and alignment of audio and video.
