FIELD: vehicles.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the control of an unmanned underwater vehicle. To control an autonomous underwater vehicle in an underwater area, according to the method lower at least one basket of an autonomous underwater vehicle to an underwater area near at least one predetermined underwater structure, which has the means of providing it with electrical energy. In the indicated place, which is under water, the basket, or each of the baskets, is connected to the underwater structure or to each underwater structure for receiving electrical energy from it. Electric energy is directed through an underwater structure to charge the battery of an autonomous underwater vehicle attached to a basket.
EFFECT: improved system availability is achieved for testing and maintaining underwater equipment for oil and gas production.
