SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to cup holder assemblies to be arranged in the console of a vehicle. Above vehicle console includes a base and cup holder. Said cup holder assembly comprises a first housing, a second housing, and an insert. Said first housing forms the upper side wall between the first open end and the second open end. Said second housing forms the bottom side wall between the third open end and the bottom wall, and is attached to the first housing in the first position with the lower side wall extending continuously with the upper side wall and in the second position with a gap formed between the upper side wall and the lower side wall. Said insert is positioned in the gap when assembling the second body with the first body in the second position.

EFFECT: it is possible to illuminate the inside of the cup holder and/or the wall or bottom section of the cup holder.
