FIELD: instrument engineering.
SUBSTANCE: commander’s panoramic observation device (hereinafter referred to as POD) relates to the field of armament and military equipment and is designed for panoramic terrain viewing, detection, target recognition and target designation from the commander to the gunner in day and night conditions from the spot and immediately. Product is an observant heat-television device, remotely controlled. POD consists of two main units: an optical unit (hereinafter referred to as the OU) and a control unit (hereinafter referred to as the CU). OU is a functionally independent product, to the input of which a control signal of CAN 2.0 format is fed and at the output there is a television signal. Television and thermal imaging cameras mounted on a gyro-stabilized platform, providing comfortable observation when the object is moving, are used for the review of the area. In the field of view there is a rangefinder "with a base on the target". Guidance on the target is carried out by the controls of the console commander of the fire control system. CU allows you to integrate POD into the fire control system, as well as provide target designation modes.
EFFECT: panoramic view of the area, detection and recognition of targets and providing target designation from the commander to the gunner in conditions of insufficient visibility at any time of the day from the spot and immediately.
