FIELD: internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: methods are provided for controlling the direct injection fuel pump, in which the solenoid bypass valve is energized with current and de-energized according to certain conditions. Control strategy is needed to operate the direct injection fuel pump outside areas where pump operation may be unstable and inaccurate, where areas may be characterized by smaller pump commands, as well as smaller displacement volumes. To maintain a suitable range of pump commands and working volumes, along with working outside areas of low accuracy, a method has been proposed that includes limiting the calculated pump commands when the calculated pump commands lie within areas of low accuracy.
EFFECT: invention can be used in fuel management systems for internal combustion engines.
