FIELD: internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines (ICE). Methods and systems for a direct injection fuel pump are proposed. According to the invention, the pressure inside the fuel pump compression chamber 408 is controlled by supplying a certain volume of fuel from the accumulator 502 to the compression chamber with the open check valve 412. Lubrication of the fuel pump is improved by extruding the fuel from the compression chamber 408 in the sub-piston space 418.
EFFECT: probability of deterioration of its characteristics reduces by improving the lubrication of the fuel pump.
