SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in fuel management systems for internal combustion engines. Disclosed are methods and systems for improving lubrication with zero flow rate (ZFR) of high pressure fuel pump (HPFP), connected to injectors of fuel injection directly through fuel stage of direct injection. Transfer function of ZFR for fuel pump is studied, when fuel is in conditions of module of volumetric deformation of fuel, other than nominal, and corrected taking into account deviations from calculation of nominal module of volumetric deformation of fuel. When lubrication with zero flow rate of the pump is requested, the pump operates with a duty cycle based on the studied transfer function and instantaneous calculation of fuel volume deformation module in order to compensate for fuel state differences from calculation of nominal module of volumetric fuel deformation.
EFFECT: invention provides reliable lubrication of HPFP during zero-feed operation, which makes it possible to facilitate adaptation of HPFP to operation in various fuel systems and with different types of fuel.
