FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to producing polymers with a system of conjugated bonds by polymerizing phenylacetylene (PHA) and can be used to produce materials with semiconductor properties, antistatic coatings, sensitive layers for electron diffraction, photo-oxidation stabilizers. Described is a method for producing polyphenylacetylene by polymerizing phenylacetylene in the presence of a palladium cationic complex tetrafluoroborate (acetylacetonato)bis(tri(o-methoxyphenyl)phosphine) palladium of formula [(acac)Pd(tompp)2]BF4, in the mass of monomer or in the presence of non-coordinating solvents. Process is carried out at a molar ratio of PHA:Pd=500:1…1000:1 at a temperature of 12–50 °C.
EFFECT: producing polyphenylacetylene having a high molecular weight using small loads of palladium catalyst.
