FIELD: textile and paper.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a tool for textiles and can be used for the manufacture or machining of textiles. Tool for machining textiles has a carburised base, which consists of chromium steel and has areas of a working part and core part, the material of which has different degrees of deformation. Base has a chromium content of 11 to 30 wt%, aluminium content of less than 0.3 wt%, copper content of less than 0.4 wt% and total carbon content on at least one area of the surface of more than 0.8 wt%. Method of manufacturing said tool includes the following steps: obtaining a tool blank from chromium steel, with chromium content of at least 11 wt%, aluminium less than 0.3 wt% and copper less than 0.4 wt%, deforming different areas of the blank with different degrees of deformation to create at least one working part and one core part, carburising the tool blank with the formation of chromium carbide and a total carbon content of at least one area of the surface of more than 0.8 wt%, quenching the carburised tool blank, wherein the tool blank is heated to quenching temperature, and the tool blank is cooled rapidly to form martensite.
EFFECT: providing a tool for textiles with zonally different levels of hardening, without the need to subject separate differently hardenable zones to different processing conditions, wherein hardness control is performed according to the degree of deformation of the textile tool.
