SUBSTANCE: oral care appliance is proposed that includes an elongated main body that includes a head supporting a plurality of tooth cleaning elements and a handle defining the outer surface. Retained guide component is located on the handle and comprises a pair of guide surfaces spaced at a distance in the transverse direction, separated by a longitudinally passing channel. Guide surfaces are raised above the outer surface of the handle and are arranged to interact with the user's thumb.
EFFECT: guide component is configured to deflect the head at an angle up or down with respect to the vertical plane of user's teeth when the guide component is gripped between the user's thumb and forefinger, in order to obtain the correct cleaning angle on the gum line.
