At least one of the tooth cleaning elements represents a first type of tooth brushing element extending from the first end to the second end along the longitudinal axis and having a polygonal cross-section. First type of tooth cleaning element has an outer surface having a plurality of elongated ends and a plurality of elongated edges. First type of dental cleaning element is made of the first component and the second component, wherein the first and second components differ by at least one characteristic. Connection of the first and second components is located along at least one of elongated edges.

EFFECT: disclosed are an oral care appliance and a suture for use with said appliance.
