SUBSTANCE: proposed is a method for producing a mineral-based sorbent by treating a raw material with water and drying, according to the invention, magnesium oxide is used as a mineral base, which is subjected to hydration with water in ratio of 1:1.5 with stirring, drying is carried out at a temperature of 100–105 °C for 1 hour, heat treatment is carried out at a temperature of 110–130 °C for 1.5 hours.
EFFECT: invention relates to production of sorbents, specifically to methods for producing sorbents that can be used to purify water, aqueous solutions from heavy metals.
