SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the industrial production of purified sea water for food use. Method of obtaining sea water (M3) includes the following steps: intake and decantation of the initial sea water, filtration, sterilisation to obtain purified sea water (M1). Method includes further steps - reducing boron content (6) to obtain sea water (M2) with boron content of less than one milligram per litre; further filtration (7) and sterilisation (8) of possible residual microorganisms; carrying out analyses, studies and inspection (9) of sea water (M1, M2, M3) at the respective different steps of its purification, to ensure sea water (M3), which is microbiologically pure and filtered, and also includes storage of purified water in tanks or bottling (10) of the sea water (M3), ready to use for various purposes, mainly for food. Reduction of boron content at step (6) is carried out using a selective ion exchange resin.
EFFECT: method enables to obtain purified and microbiologically neutralised sea water for food use.
