SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a surgical light for illuminating an operating area, having a housing-like light body in which at least a first and a second light unit is housed, and which comprises a first power supply line electrically connected to the first light unit for supplying electric current from a first voltage source to at least one light source of the first light unit, wherein the second light unit of the light body contains at least one additional light source and is connected to a second power supply line, which is separated from the first power supply line and by means of which it is possible to electrically connect a second voltage source to the second light unit.
EFFECT: ensuring a more failure-safe surgical light.
