FIELD: speech analysis or synthesis; speech recognition.
SUBSTANCE: this invention relates to complex prediction-based MDCT stereo coding. Stereo output signal is obtained from the stereo input signal encoded by stereo coding with complex prediction and including the first views of the two input channels in the frequency domain. Coding includes the following upmixing steps: (i) calculating the second representation of the first input channel in the frequency domain and (ii) calculating the output channel based on the first and second representations of the first input channel in the frequency domain, the first representation of the second input channel in the frequency domain and the complex prediction coefficient. Upmixing can be stopped in response to control data.
EFFECT: technical result consists in increasing the efficiency of stereo coding when transmitting data with a high bit rate.
