SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a mineral wool-based thermal insulation product containing mineral fibres, the product has two main surfaces and longitudinal and transverse edges, perpendicular to the main surfaces, the product is characterized by the following degrees of orientation: degree of longitudinal orientation is greater than or equal to 48 %, even greater than or equal to 50 %, at an angle of plus or minus 6° to the plane of the main surfaces, when mineral fibres are counted only in longitudinal section, and the average degree of orientation is greater than or equal to 40 %, even greater than or equal to 45 %, at an angle of plus or minus 6° to the plane of the main surfaces, when the mineral fibres are counted simultaneously in the transverse and longitudinal sections.
EFFECT: invention allows to improve the insulating ability of a thermal insulation product based on mineral wool without increasing its thickness.
