SUBSTANCE: invention relates to instrumentation technology, and in particular to methods of non-destructive testing of magnetic materials. Method of non-destructive testing of an object from a magnetic material is that a controlled object is placed in a constant magnetic field and subjected to mechanical stress, the mechanical properties of the object are judged by the response value. Magnetic field is used to magnetize an object in a given longitudinal or transverse direction. Depending on the direction of magnetization, longitudinal or transverse effects are used as a mechanical action, respectively, providing the excitation in a controlled object of its own oscillation modes in the audio frequency range. Frequency composition of the object's oscillations is recorded by the voltage induced in the winding at the specified effect and the values of the frequencies of the maxima are judged on the mechanical properties of the object. Magnetization of the object and the registration of the frequency composition of oscillations is carried out through the same winding, covering the object under control in the longitudinal or transverse direction, respectively.
EFFECT: technical result is an increase in the accuracy and productivity of the control of mechanical properties of magnetic materials.
