FIELD: railway automatics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway automation and telemechanics systems for track section clearing to count the number of cars. Device includes rail line with crosspieces at ends, track generator, track receiver, which fixes excess of current voltage of receiving end of threshold value, resistors, operational amplifier, capacitors, diodes and counter. Car counting device makes it possible to count number of cars in passing train by means of short rail line with short-circuited ends, to the track line center tone frequency generator is connected and a receiver, which detects the rail line release at the moment when car wheelsets come out of it, at this moment a signal, which increases the position of the counter by one, appears at the input of the counter, that enables to determine the number of cars in the train.
EFFECT: possibility to calculate number of cars.
