FIELD: railway industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a means of monitoring the integrity of rail lines. In the method, the ends of the rail line are short-circuited by shunts, the control section of the rail line is located between the wheelsets of the last two carriages of the train; the last two cars are connected by an automatic coupler, which has an insulator to exclude an electrical circuit between the car bodies; wheel pairs of the last two cars are used as shunts; the power of the rail circuit is supplied from a generator installed in the control unit at the automatic coupler between the last two cars, there are also located: comparator C, radio station RS, receiver GLONASS P, and power supply PS; the generator is connected to the shunts through the jumpers to determine the value of the total current in the rails; the voltage across the shunt through the rectifier is applied to the input of the comparator, which compares the average voltage measured during the control interval with the current voltage; if the current voltage becomes lower than the average, then this indicates a decrease in the total current in the rails, which occurs when the rail is damaged; at this moment, the radio station is turned off, which cyclically transmits information about the location of the GLONASS receiver to the nearest station; the location of the rail damage corresponds to the coordinate that was not transmitted to the station; when the train is moving under vibration conditions, when the rail breaks, the electric circuit breaks for a short time, which makes it possible to detect damage to the rail line; the station has information about insulating joints along the train route, which makes it possible to exclude false information about rail damage.
EFFECT: increased reliability of control of the integrity of rail lines.
