SUBSTANCE: gravity mixer refers to the field of bulk materials mixing. In the device, consisting of a fixed vertical case of rectangular cross section, inside which one inclined trays are located one above the other with rods fixed at a certain pitch, a loading device is installed in the upper part of the case, and at the bottom there is an unloading device, round-shaped rods are fixed across the trays and have a diameter equal to the average diameter of particles of the bulk material d_c=d_h. It is necessary that the rods on the trays are fixed with a step equal to t=1.1d_h. In addition, to ensure high mixing efficiency, the trays should be set at an angle α=(1.1…1.15)α₀ to the horizon (α₀ – angle of repose of the bulk material).

EFFECT: improving the quality of the finished mixture due to the intensive mixing of particles of the bulk material in the process of shear movement along the inclined trays with transverse rods.
