FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of aluminium by electrolysis of melts, and namely to cover of an electrolysis unit to obtain aluminium with an upper current lead. The cover of the aluminium electrolysis unit with the upper current lead includes lifting plates gas-tightly connected to a flange of an anode casing and side walls of the electrolysis units by means of rotating levers fixed on the anode casing; each longitudinal side of the cover has at least two holes with surface area S1, the ratio of which to the surface area of the whole cover S2 is S1:S2=0.01÷0.05:1; besides, holes are equipped with tight cover plates, and the above cover itself is provided with heat insulation. The tight cover plate is made in the form of a flattened pyramid with its smaller base facing inside the hole, and an angle between the larger base and the side surface of the cover plate is 2-5°.

EFFECT: providing reduction of pollutant emissions at performance of technological operations related to depressurisation of the cover, and reducing the electric energy consumed by an electrolysis unit.
