METHOD OF CREATING SEASONAL WATER STORAGE ON RIVERS WITH UNSTABLE WATER LEVEL AND DEVICE FOR ITS IMPLEMENTATION Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC E02B7/00

Abstract RU 2684562 C1

FIELD: hydraulic engineering.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to hydraulic engineering and can be used for construction of temporary dams on rivers with unstable water level. Dam sections include two rigid rectangular frames hinged at an angle in the upper part, water-proof side of the section facing the water forms a triangular prism on the whole. Frames are made with additional stiffeners. Sections, screw piles, rigid guides, carriages are made of high-alloy steel or metal, with anticorrosion coating, for example, zinc-plated or painted iron. Dam for creation of seasonal water reservoir includes mini-piles or screw piles on dam installation line installed in two parallel lines, at upper points of screw piles rigid guides are fixed, on which sections of dam with function of movement along rigid guides are installed. In the lower part of the front section a strong shutter is fixed, for example, metal or PVC, with the possibility of lifting and lowering along side guides installed on the front frame. Dam sections are moved along rigid guides on carriages, wherein at least one section is made with possibility of passage of commensurate vessels from one pool to another. On the front side of this section, consisting of two plates, the lower stationary and upper movable, there is a mechanism for reducing and lifting the plate by means of cables, one end fixed to the upper part of the plate, spanned through rotating units, installed on the upper points of the section, and by other end ropes are fixed to counterweight located on opposite support frame. Counterweight with its weight is 10–20 % higher than that of top plate. A strong round element, for example a pipe, is attached to the upper face of the plate so as not to damage the bottom of the boat when passing into another pool. Section with plate for passage of commensurate vessels and strong shutters to close the gap between lower section and river bottom on other sections are made with possibility of mechanical lowering/lifting and fixation and on front frame and operate as slider, i.e. move along guides.

EFFECT: higher water level in rivers during dry period, higher reliability of the dam, reinforced structure, compactness of the structure when folded for storage and/or transportation, rate of installation of the dam and considerable weight reduction of the structure per each running meter, as well as possibility of commensurate vessels passing from the upper pool to the lower pool.
