SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a honeycomb, in particular to a deformable honeycomb, for example, for lightweight components with a curved surface. Said honeycomb includes elongate strips and a plurality of connecting regions that are provided between every two opposite strips, in particular adhesive strips connect the strips integrally to one another in some sections in the transverse direction (W) and are arranged at regular intervals along the longitudinal direction (L) of the strip at a periodic center spacing (I). Honeycomb-like cells form hollow spaces between the strips. And if three successive strips are considered, an offset (S1'a) of the connecting regions between the first and second strips in relation to the connecting regions between the second and third strips in the first direction (D1) of the longitudinal direction (L) is substantially less than in the other, second direction (D2) of the longitudinal direction (L). Therefore, at least a portion of the cells has a cross section in the L/W plane with at least one longer side (S2) corresponding to a larger offset and preferably at least one shorter side (S1) corresponding to a smaller offset. Also described are a sandwich component comprising a base of such honeycomb, a honeycomb unit for manufacturing such honeycomb and a method for manufacturing such honeycomb.
