SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of aviation, in particular to systems that ensure safety of flights. Device for evaluating the probability of engine icing includes an estimation module that estimates the probability of an engine icing event from formation of ice crystals based on infrared satellite data, digital weather prediction data and empirical data corresponding to at least one actual formation of ice crystals engine icing event. Device also includes a data products module that generates a data product showing the resulting estimate of the indicated probability of formation of ice crystals engine icing event. In addition, the device includes an output module that transmits the specified data product to the recipient.
EFFECT: route planning is provided by avoiding areas with a high probability of engine icing events.
