FIELD: meteorology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of meteorology and can be used for remote determination of meteorological conditions of aircraft icing. Essence: at the observation point, several (n) actual values of the total moisture content of the atmospheric column are recorded using a water vapor radiometer as well as the actual value of the vertical temperature profile, using a ground-based temperature profiler. A histogram is plotted for the n measured values of the total moisture content. The n indicators of the moisture content of the atmosphere are averaged. Areas in which the conditions 4kg / m2≤Q≤10 kg/m2 and -13°С≤T(h)≤+2°С are satisfied, where Q is the averaged total moisture content of the atmosphere, T (h) is the air temperature at height h, are referred to as possible icing zones.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of forecasts.
