FIELD: protective devices.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cable network protection and airborne equipment from effects of high current loads. To adjust the current as a resistive element is used a piece of wire from an electrically conductive material with high specific resistance and heat-resistant insulation, included in the power cable and capable of providing high power dissipation when operating in pulsed modes. Cable resistance, as well as an initiating device, is adjusted by changing the length of a piece of wire in manufacture of the cable so that its temperature does not reach the insulation destruction temperature.
EFFECT: improvement in the weight and size characteristics of initiating devices is achieved, the possibility of adjusting the internal resistance and current consumption without the use of electro-radio products, improving reliability and manufacturability of initiating devices.
