FIELD: measurement.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the measurement of the mechanical properties of metals, the determination of their strength characteristics and the calculation of the conditional yield strength and temporary resistance to the destruction of the metal of main pipelines without damaging their design during operation. Pipeline is prepared for measurements, sections of the pipeline are isolated, the quantitative characteristics of the metal microstructure are determined, along with effective grain size of ferrite deff and the volume fraction of perlite, the hardness of the metal sections of the pipeline portable dynamic hardness testers are determined, then the elemental composition of low carbon steel spectrometer are determined and the conditional yield strength σ0.2 and temporary resistance to tearing σat is calculated according to the measurement results.
EFFECT: improving the reliability of measurement results, the possibility of quality control and determination of the strength characteristics of metal pipelines under operating conditions.
