SUBSTANCE: invention refers to pharmaceutics and concerns a pharmaceutical composition for treating hyposialia or asialia. Disclosed composition includes at least one humectant in amount of 15 to 65 wt. % based on the total weight of the composition, one gelling agent and a mixture of polyvinylpyrrolidone and copolyvidone as a film-forming agent, where the amount of the film-forming agent ranges from 2 to 5 % of the total weight of the composition, and the composition further includes mucus derived from althaea root extract.
EFFECT: composition is effective in reducing dry mouth sensation, at least to an equal extent with respect to the commercial agent Aequasyal, and provides a longer period of action.
