SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, namely, to forensic medicine. For postmortem determination of a person's sex, characteristics of the blade are determined, namely: morphological height of the right blade; base blade vane root length; greatest width of shoulder process of left blade; length of right cavity of right blade. Based on the obtained data, DF1 and DF2 are calculated using original equations. If DF1>DF2, then the sex of the person is defined as male, and if DF1<DF2 – as female.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to posthumously determine a person's sex by anatomical features of the blade with a high degree of reliability.
