SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of forensic medical examination in the diagnosis of the sex of putrefactive, skeletonized or destroyed corpses and can be used in forensic science. The method includes fixing the values ​​of left-sided and right-sided signs of arytenoid cartilages: the distance from the apex to the muscular process, the distance from the apex to the vocal tubercle, the distance between the muscular and vocal tubercles, the diameter of the articular surface, the areas and masses of both left-sided and right-sided AC separately, and their amounts. Next, one-dimensional discriminant analysis is used to determine the categories of features on a 5-point scale and, according to the proposed decision rule, obtain 3 forms of conclusions: reliable (problem solved), probable (additional research is needed) and uncertain (rejection of the solution). With a probable solution, the classifying functions are additionally calculated according to the models of multivariate discriminant analysis separately for men and women. Their comparison determines the choice of gender and the form of expert conclusions.

EFFECT: invention provides accuracy and reliability of sex diagnostics on the basis of arytenoid cartilage characteristics by step-by-step application of combined methods of one-dimensional and multidimensional discriminant analysis.
