FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to forensic medical examination. To determine the age of the unidentified body, the pre-cleaned and dried nail plate is examined. Value of transparency of a fragment of the free edge of the nail plate is determined, which is fixed on a slide and is analysed with the help of a biological microscope with a photometric nozzle with a photoelectronic multiplier, sensitive to radiation in range of 300–800 nm, using an interference light filter with a light flux transmission area in range of 450–480 nm. Evaluation of results is carried out using a combined digital instrument. Age is set by value of light transmission coefficient.
EFFECT: method increases objectivity of determining age-related identity of an unidentified body owing to use of technical means having a high level of accuracy.
