SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR OPTIMIZING FREQUENCY OF DATA COLLECTION AND THRESHOLDS FOR DETERIORATION DETECTION ALGORITHM Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61B5/00

Abstract RU 2685681 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine and can be used to monitor patients. Proposed is a system for implementing the method, the system comprising one or more sensors sampling the patient’s data for the patient with a sampling frequency; a controller configured to receive the patient’s data from one or more sensors, and the controller is programmed to: determine the patient's condition using the patient’s data; determine the baseline information about the patient, including their age, body surface area, the day of admission to the hospital, the source of funding, the history of chronic diseases, the history of the last surgical intervention, the history of the last chemotherapy, the current prescription of drugs, the reasons for hospitalization, the last set of vital indicators; determine the predisposition to the occurrence of a case of deterioration and the likelihood of deterioration, optimize the sampling rate of one or more sensors based on the likelihood of deterioration, perform automatic control of the sampling frequency of one or more sensors based on a particular patient’s condition, moreover, each time one of the sensors is sampled, the probability of deterioration is recalculated, moreover, based on the re-calculated probability of deterioration, the sampling frequency of the sensors is adjusted. Also proposed are a machine-readable medium storing a computer program comprising program code means configured for the processor to perform the steps of the method, but when said computer program is loaded and executed on the processor, and a patient monitoring station, comprising: one or more sensors, by means of which physiological data are received; and one or more processors programmed to perform the method.

EFFECT: group of inventions provides an optimized data collection process, taking into account the definition of at least one of: susceptibility to the occurrence of a case of deterioration and the likelihood of deterioration, optimization of the sampling rate of one or more sensors based on the likelihood of deterioration, automatic control of the sampling frequency of one or more sensors based on a particular patient’s condition.
