FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ferrous metallurgy, specifically to production of iron-ore pellets. Wet mixture is fed into the pelletizer in two streams and the formation of a skull on the bottom of the pelletizer, inclined at an angle to the horizon. First charge flow is fed into compressed gas flow to form gas-moisture-charge jet. At the pelletiser bottom there formed is a zone occupied with charge and a zone free from charge. Charge is sputtered by a gas-moisture-charge jet oriented to sculling and performed in a charge-free zone to produce a dense layer of wet charge. Dividing layer of wet charge is divided into nuclei, scrap shell is cleaned of nuclei by rotating drum with ribs, additional pellets are additionally pelletized with nuclei. In lower part of zone free from charge there installed is accumulator equipped with partitions and gate. Nuclei are directed into accumulator after nucleation to form nucleus layer. By means of the gate the nuclei are metered to the zone occupied by the charge. Accumulator is made of metal mesh with cells sized (0.1–0.5) L, and distance between partitions is set equal to (2–3) L, where L is length of nuclei rib, mm.
EFFECT: invention provides for the increased productivity of the pelletizer and for the increased strength of the pellets.
