FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: intraoral device for providing a non-invasive neuromodulation of the patient comprises an elongated body positioned in the oral cavity and containing an anterior region of constant first width and a posterior region of constant second width, positioning the pad and printed circuit board. Body has a non-planar upper outer surface and a transition region connecting the front and rear regions. Transition region has a width that varies smoothly from the first width to the second width. Positioning pad is attached to the upper surface of the body to minimize contact between the patient’s upper teeth and the upper outer surface of the elongated body. Printed circuit board is mounted on the lower portion of the elongated body and contains electrodes to provide percutaneous local electrical stimulation of the patient’s tongue.
EFFECT: combined therapy of non-invasive neuromodulation with traditional neurorehabilitation is provided.
