SUBSTANCE: invention relates to high-speed high-voltage switching device (versions) capable to disconnect and switch on load current during not more than one half-period of industrial frequency at voltage of up to 2,000 kV or more and allowing to create not only high-voltage switches with improved characteristics of universal use for AC and DC systems, but also high-voltage switching devices with new capabilities, which can be used as separate controlled rectifiers or inverters with high-speed high-voltage switch function, as well as universal main elements of conversion bridges – reversible universal rectifiers-inverters with function of high-speed switch in high-voltage conversion unit for reverse connection of DC and AC power systems or composition of high-voltage conversion unit for communication of alternating-current power systems of various industrial frequencies, as well as in other various versions of conversion plants.
