FIELD: electric power industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related specifically to thermal power unit with MHD generators, the kinetic energy of the movement of the working fluid of which is formed by the energy of detonation combustion of organic fuel. The detonation power unit contains an MHD DC generator with a closed sealed circular MHD channel containing plus and minus electrical contacts for the DC circuit, as well as an electromagnet and/or a permanent magnet. The inner space of the closed sealed circular MHD channel is filled with an electrically conductive alkaline electrolyte. A turbine wheel is also located inside the channel, which can rotate together with the electrically conductive alkaline electrolyte. Outside the closed sealed circular MHD channel there are at least two reactive chambers for detonation combustion of fuel. The outlet jet nozzles of the chambers are directed inside the closed sealed circular MHD channel at an angle to form circular movement of rotation of the turbine wheel, which can rotate together with the conductive alkaline electrolyte which is the working fluid of the MHD DC generator. The MHD channel also includes at least one device for removing water vapor and air from the closed hermetic circular MHD channel and at least one heating system, including at least one device for the cooling system of the body of the closed hermetic circular MHD channel.

EFFECT: power unit with MHD generator is proposed.
