FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to application of coatings on metal surfaces using concentrated energy flows and is aimed at formation of titanium-based implants of zirconium-based coatings. Method includes electric explosion of zirconium foil with weight of 50–500 mg, generation of explosion multiphase plasma jet from explosion products, melting of titanium implant surface at absorbed power density of 1.5–1.8 GW/m2, deposition of explosion products onto the surface and formation of a zirconium-based bioinert coating on the surface thereof. Method can be used in medical equipment, traumatology and orthopedics for application of zirconium-based bioinert coatings with high adhesion.
EFFECT: disclosed method enables to form a surface layer with high adhesion of the coating with a substrate of titanium, low roughness and a homogenised structure, which increases service life of the implants, broadens the field of practical application.
