FIELD: testing equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the structural solid, plastic and liquid lubricants tribotechnical properties testing technique under conditions of frontal friction, and can also be used for the composite materials, metal and polymer based coatings, water-soluble process lubricants and process coatings tribological testing. Friction machine contains consisting of a vertical post and a base plate frame, the console, on which the spindle and the electric motor are fixed, connected between each other by the V-belt, the dynamometer with elastic elements and strain gauges, vertical post with a movable bracket with a table with a base mounted thereon, on which a friction assembly is located, consisting of the upper rotating specimen in the form of the spindle mounted cylinder, and a support unit, which houses the thrust bearing with a counter-body, an articulated support and the cylindrical sample, a strain gauge and a computer, which registers, records, and processes friction torque, a thermocouple, a loading mechanism representing the gear wheel and the rail engagement, and a lever, at which end a cup with installed weights is suspended on a metal rod to create the axial load on the friction unit. Mandrel lower part is made hollow with holes with possibility of the cylindrical sample mounting in it. In the mandrel lower part, an external thread is made with a funnel and a cover installed thereon. Cylindrical sample end surface is made with transverse grooves and is parallel to the counter-body working surface, and in the cylindrical sample internal cavity an impeller is installed. One of the spindle feed knobs contains a detachable extension, on the load lever a metal segment is placed, made as part of a metal ring with a radius equal to the load lever length, and a groove on the metal ring surface for the flexible cord accommodation.

EFFECT: conducting the various solid, plastic and liquid lubricants tribotechnical properties study with the face friction and their continuous supply to the samples friction zone made from of the same or different composition materials, with their working surfaces different roughness and hardness, with the friction coefficient continuous fixation, and the samples wear determination under various loads, sliding speeds, using simple, widely used small-sized equipment as a base and the axial load on the contacting samples precise setting.
