FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to multilayer film coatings with a metal effect for metal articles, particularly a vehicle body, and relates to a multilayer coating film and a coated object. Film contains a colored base layer which contains a dye and is directly or indirectly formed on the surface of the target object and containing a shiny material layer which contains flakes of shiny material, for example flakes of aluminum, and a dye and is layered on the colored base layer, wherein the colored base layer has a surface finish of 8 or less Wd units, measured using a BYK-Gardner WaveScan DOI device, the shiny material layer having thickness of 1.5 mcm or more and 6 mcm or less, content of dye in the shiny material containing layer is 7 wt% or more and 30 wt% or less, and when the entire shiny material in the shiny material-containing layer protrudes on the surface of the shiny material-containing layer, the surface area it occupies is 30 % or more and 90 % or less of the surface area containing the shiny material.
EFFECT: invention improves the brightness variation properties when the viewing angle and metal effect of the metal coating vary.
